Things to Do in Breckenridge in January

The holidays may be over, but winter fun is just beginning when you live in Breckenridge.

There are so many great outdoor activities you can enjoy here. And as a realtor, I feel it’s part of my job to get you acquainted with all that Breckenridge has to offer.

So take a look at the long list of things you can do in January when you live in this amazing area.

Skiing and Snowboarding

Winter sports thrive in Breckenridge. That’s because we get a snowfall average of 320 inches. You can’t beat that when it comes to skiing or snowboarding.

Our light powder snow is perfect for both of these popular sports.

Dog Sledding

If you’d prefer to enjoy the snow without too much exertion, dog sledding may be just right for you.

Book a ride and see the snowy landscape from the coziness of a dog sled. It’s so relaxing to let a team of 8 to 12 dogs lead you and a driver through the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

Snowmobiling

For those of you who seek an adrenaline rush, snowmobiling won’t disappoint. January’s the perfect time to rent a snowmobile and get an all-terrain fix on the mountainside.

Whether you’re looking for extreme speed or scenic views, snowmobiling is the way to go.

Ice Skating

There’s more than just snow to make your Breckenridge January a special occasion. Ice is another awesome outdoor feature in this area. And you can take advantage of it by an afternoon of ice skating at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. Lessons are also available. So no matter what your skill level happens to be, you and your family can have a terrific time on the ice.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

An appreciation for Breckenridge’s breath-taking outdoors doesn’t always mean you have to burn a ton of calories. You can see our gorgeous mountains from up above in a hot air balloon. It’s not just a summertime activity either. Hot air balloon rides are available in the winter months, too.

Fly Fishing

You might feel fly fishing is a summertime sport. Well, think again! There are some waters in Breckenridge that have fishing year round. It’s cold in January, but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience fly fishing in the mountains. So consider this an option.

Want More Ideas?

As you can see, there are plenty of things you might do in Breckenridge during the month of January. And I can provide more ideas for you and your family to choose from. Just give me a call. I know all the ins and outs of this region.

Also, if you’re interested in buying or selling a home in Breckenridge, I can help you with that as well. Feel free to call my office or fill out my Information Request Form.
