September 2013 Summit County Real Estate Update

There is great news to report for Summit County real estate yet again! If you’re debating whether or not to sell your home right now, you’ll be happy to hear that overall sales are up 20.5 percent. It’s a 22 percent improvement on the North side of the county and an 18.6 increase on the South side. September Stats

A lot of resort real estate is now being bought and sold all over Summit County. In fact, Summit County could possibly create a new record that hasn’t been seen on this level since the early 2000s. That’s pretty amazing!

The only negative detail to share this month is that the average sold price for residential sales is down by 4 percent. This translates to -4 percent on the North side and -3 percent on the South side. But this can change in the future as Summit County’s real estate market continues to recover.

It’s also worthwhile to point out that the slightly lower sold prices are not slowing down the activity around here. New listings have recently gone up by 63 percent! Plus, new under contracts have risen 24 percent and up for sold properties by 45 percent!

The current market here in Summit County is definitely cause for celebration. I’m excited to see how the real estate landscape continues to make progress in the coming months.
